The Prince's Veto

In Liechtenstein', The prince as well as his royal family recently discovered GENVA, a bill or a refredrum as they call it in their country to allows the people have more of a say.  This refredum is wanting the people to be allowed to remove the power of th veto.  In the article it states that the royal family is "astonished" by this move.

I personally believe that the royal family should be ashamed of themslves.  They should want their people to have a say in their country.  I believe to be a strong leader you have to remain true to your own beliefs but be able to hear your people and relate to them.  So many thins have gone wrong historically where people of a higher power did not listen to the people.  I hope the royal family looks back on their mistake and becomes a bit more open minded.

In an America, we have the power of voice. We are allowed to say what we want and express how we feel.  It is challenging to change a law because so much has to be put into it.  However, I believe our leaders are doing the best they can. They cannot make everyone happy, thats just not possible. Nevertheless they can continue to give our people the right to veto or make laws.

  1. Very popular article. It amazes me how unhappy people can be about their being treated and how they dont agree with the rules they supply to them. Makes me so greatful to live in a country and not have to worry about anyone having full control over others

  2. It is amazing that people can keep complaing and not do anything about it. At least some people try to make other people happy. What are the complainers doing...NOTHING!! But I think I still want to be a princess!

  3. This seems kind of like the whole American Revolution where we were unhappy because we didn't have rights. I know a lot of other people have said this but seeing stuff like this has just made me think of how lucky I am to be able to be part of my government. Hopefully the people of Liechtenstein can make a reform to their government.

  4. I would have to agree with everyone on how surprising it is that a country will not allow people to have a voice. Though they don't know much different, I imagine they are extremely out of touch from those who live there. Unfortunately there won't be change until both sides comprise and I don't see the prince giving up his power to veto.
